4. SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION
Summary Of Discussion | The 1st matter that we discussed for this meeting was to check our progress based on our Gantt Chart.According to it,we have 2 more weeks for us to complete our designing and programming tasks. Our task for this week and the following week requires 3 new diagrams to be uploaded. The 3 diagrams are the Data Flow Diagram,ERD and Activity Flow Diagrams. We also discussed further meeting dates for the design managers to meet up and complete the designing task,as well as the members responsible for drawing the diagrams to meet up and do them together because some of these diagrams are quite interrelated.

Conclusions | After discussing,it has been decided that Chong Kuan and Brian will handle the Activity Flow Diagram,Shau Hooi will handle the ERD and Kit Leong will handle the Data Flow Diagram.Chiew Suan will be in charge of creating test cases to test our programme.Next Friday(1st August),will be the weekend just before the midterm break starts.Since most of us will be quite free, that will be another important meeting day to get a lot of work done.

SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION
Summary Of Discussion: This was the 4th meeting that we had in the 5th week of the trimester. Our main agenda this time was to discuss about the UML diagram that we are suppose to finish by Tuesday(21st July). We decided that we will use 3 actors for our scenarios,a registered user,an unregistered user and an administrator.Moving on,we discussed more on the design of the website.Shau Hooi showed us some of the photoshop work that she had done on some of the products and more suitable pictures based on our theme to upload on the website.Brian also showed us some of his work he had done base on the Dreamweaver software.Chiew Suan will also help with the designing using the Dreamweaver software since she also had just installed it.
Conclusions:The full details of the UML will be shown in the diagram we made that will be uploaded by Kit Leong within the next few days. The pace of the project is picking up as we are moving more towards designing the actual website itself.Based on our planning we made in the earlier stages of the project,we are pretty much going according to plan for the time being.
Tasks:
Edit and upload the final version of the UML(Kit Leong and Chong Kuan, deadline 21st July)
Continue with the designing of the pages of the website(Shau Hooi and Brian)
Programming the codes for the website(Chong Kuan and Chiew Suan)

Dear Members,
I realized that we are not the only team that was being victimized in the recent incident. Therefore we can just ignore this "SMART ALEX" or whatever foul language that you all can think of to describe him/her. Please proceed with all the tasks assigned to you all.
Thanks.
Learning is FUN.
CK
The waterfall model is well suited for our project as it is a very systematic and sequential model. If there are any problems that arise in any of the phases, all we need to do is backtrack our way to the source of the problem and to 'flow' once again from one step to the next. This project is somewhat similar to the source code of websites that are already available on the website. For projects that are repeated and are similar to each other, the waterfall model is well suited for it.These are the reasons that justifies our choice of choosing the waterfall model. However,we will make modifications to the source codes based on our needs.
Analysis
For the analysis stage,we will first analyze the objectives, what we are supposed to do for the project before we proceed to anything further.
Requirements and Specifications
Here,we will decide what is required to build the software(e.g. what type of html codes or alternatives of programing softwares such as Dreamweaver) and what are the specifications of the software, what the software is capable of accomplishing.
Design
This task will be handled by the programmers of our team to make the website functional as well as decorating the layout of the website.
Implementation
It as this stage where we will implement the design of our codes. The codes will be implemented to meet its functions(for example, retrieving information from the database).
Testing and Integration
The codes will be tested if it runs as intended. As for the integration, all our work for the website will have to be combined in order for it to fully function. The programmer might break the code up into certain segments to first make sure each part is working so that it is easy to debug and troubleshoot.Integration is very important because even if each part works as a unit,at the end of the day it must be able to be integrated/combined in order to fulfill its full function.
Operation and Maintanence
Finally, after testing that everything works, the operations of the codes and website must be able to be maintained and up kept. We will be having a customer feedback form in order for us to collect information on how to improve the website and resolve issues raised by the customers. It is for these reasons that maintanece is a very important task as well.

SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION
Summary Of Discussion: One of our objectives for this week is to decide what design model to use for our assignment. After the discussion,we decided to use the waterfall model. The next thing we discussed were regarding the design and layout of the following pages for our website(Welcoming Page,Home,Online Catalogue,My Account,My Basket,My Services).Among the issues that we decided upon are the colour themes for the page and using less words so as to not clog our page up.Since the merchandise are for couples,we will use light colours for the backgrounds(e.g. pink, light blue)
Conclusions: For our home page,we will include our logo, tagline, navigation bar, slides of the products as well as advertise promotions such as seasonal discounts. For the online catalogue,we will categorize our items according to its type(shirts, watches, miscellaneous category)As for the 'My basket' and 'My Account' pages,Chong Kuan will be in charge. He will focus more towards the functionality of these pages rather than the creativity of its design because it is the function that matters more. Finally for the 'My Services' page,we will include our contacts so that we can be contacted should any inquiries be made,a customer feedback form and a tutorial guide to aid new users to familiarize themselves on how to use the website.

Create the waterfall model-->Person responsible-Kit Leong
Manage the 'My Basket' and 'My Account' pages-->Person responsible-Chong Kuan

3. Drafting the layout of the website
SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION
Summary Of Discussion:
Chong Kuan briefed us regarding the programming issues of the assignment. It requires 3 things, a database, a server side programming and a client side programming.
For the client side, we have 2 choices of programming, using Dreamweaver or Frontpage. Dreamweaver is very powerfull and flexible but difficult to learn. Frontpage is less flexible but easier to pick up. Chong Kuan needs one of us to try and attempt picking up Dreamweaver to aid in the client side programming. For the database, it is a place to save the info of everything(customer info for example). It will be done using MySQL, Chong Kuan will take charge of this part.
TASKS ALLOCATION
Action Items | Person to take charge | Note |
Search for pictures and images | Chiew Suan and Shau Hooi | Find as many of possible and then we will choose those images that are suitable for our business |

| Search Google for the tutorial and ask CK if there is any problem |
Learning MySQL (Server side programming) | Chong Kuan | It will be done by week 4 |
Preparation of Gantt Chart | Brian Siew Leong Cheong | Upload it by Sunday |
Preparation of Meeting Minute | Kit Leong | Upload it by Sunday |
CONCLUSION:
The proposal and Gantt chart has been prepared, done by Kit Leong and Brian respectively. We will include whatever updates we can in the report as an ongoing process for the time being.Unfinished matters such as a the program code will only be included towards the end stages of the project. The next thing we need to do is to look for pictures and images to be uploaded on the website, which will be taken care of by Chiew Suan and Shau Hooi for now.As for the Dreamweaver,Brian will also do more research on it to help Chong Kuan out.
